The son of a friend of mine fell off the slide at school and was diagnosed with a mild concussion. They don’t know what he did, as the bump was on the top of his head, and he can’t remember what happened. He is doing much better now. In fact, he is driving his mother crazy, so he is on the mend.
He likes the cards that I have given him in the past, so I wanted to make him a new card to cheer him up. I sign the cards as if they are from my two cats, Bert & Ernie, as they were his for the first three months of their lives. One of his three cats is B&E’s mother and he reluctantly let me adopt them after his parents decided that five cats was way too may for their house.
I first stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp’s Playful Kittens stamp set in Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink, then placed the two of the kittens from the set in opposite corner of the card. I filled in the base of this card with the little images from Simon Says Stamp’s Playful Kittens and Lots of Dots stamp sets in Simon Says Stamp’s Fog dye ink. When I was done with the stamping, the card looked a little flat and uninteresting, especially for a 5-year-old. I looked at the cats and they seemed to be just sitting there. B&E never just SIT, unless they are sleeping. So I decided to add some dimension to the card by stamping the kittens a second time, cutting them out and adding the cut images to the card with foam tape. Much better.
